Peirce Software got its start on Classic Mac OS back when it was just called the Macintosh System. Yeah, we're old timers, but the old code still runs fine on pre-Mac OS X systems and even under the Classic environment in Mac OS X. So we still make it available here for your continued use and amusement.
AppSizer 2.31 This control panel lets you set the memory partition size of any application as you launch it. Hold a command key down as you launch an app, and AppSizer brings up a simple dialog that lets you change the memory usage for that run of the app.

DeskPicture 4.51 Let you place up to 16 pictures on each screen. It also will change your pictures at preset time intervals. This version works on Mac OS 7-9.
Smoothie 1.12 Make the best onscreen graphics and presentations with the power of anti-aliasing. Not from Peirce Software, but Chatfish is a nice IRC client with source available.
