There lots of sources for pictures to adorn your desktop. This page describes a number of useful sources.

Some of my favorite desktop pictures are ones I’ve taken myself with my digital camera. These are photographs of my family, of vacations we’ve taken, of our pets, and so on.

Clean up you photos with Apple’s excellent iPhoto, Lemke Software’s GraphicConverter (a personal favorite of mine) or any of the other graphics applications available on your Mac. Size your photos to fill the entire screen or maybe make them small enough to be tucked up in a corner.

Non wallpaper specific web sites

Many other web sites can be good sources of pictures for your desktop even though they are not specifically wallpaper archives. Here are a few of these.
